Fyrinnae Meerkat

Meerkat is a lovely pinky purple with GORGEOUS gold shimmer and glitter.  It transfers just as lovely to the lid as it appears in the pot.  Meerkat is all that I had hoped MAC's Trax would be from how lovely it appears in the pan- though Trax disappoints while Meerkat delivers all the purply gold glittery goodness your heart could desire.  LOVE!!!!

I promise to deliver a non purple look next time ;)

Wet n' Wild Lust Palette Smoky Plum Eyes

The WnW Lust palette has long been a favorite of mine.  It has some amazingly pigmented mattes that have become staples for me in my makeup routine.  See post here for pics.  The midtone matte purple, is a perfect dupe for MAC's fig.1 shadow.  The deeper matte purple works in place of MAC's Shadowy Lady.  The light cream with sparkles is an AMAZING highlight shade, which I won't even compare to MAC Vanilla as it blows it away.  I've done numerous looks with the matte purples in the crease, but have never used them as all over lid colors because i tend to go for shimmer on the lid, matte in the crease.  Today's look uses the matte shades only, and I tossed a shimmery Aromaleigh shadow to brighten up the tear ducts.  This look made my green eyes super green.

Eyes
MAC Painterly PP all over eye space as primer
(Scotch tape for crisp edges)
WnW Lust Palette - Midtone matte purple patted all over center of lid, blended just into the ouetr edge of eye leaving inner 1/3 of lid clear
Dark matte purple on outer corners of eyes blended into mid tone purple
Matte cream with sparkles on inner 1/3 blended into mid tone purple, and on brow bone
ELF Palette matte-ish raspberry shade, with fluffy brush to blend out edges of other colors in crease
Aromaleigh Lavande on top of other shadow n inner 1/3 of lid (palest shimmery lavender)
All colors repeated on lower lashline
Physician's Formula Lash Boosting Serum liquid liner on upper lashline

Cheeks NYX Terracotta blush
Lips Maybelline Pink Please

How crazy green do my eyes look here?

Teal and Taupe

Hello All,

I was inspired today by  Claire Ashley on YouTube.  I recently discovered her videos and totally fell for this look.  It allows for a bright pop of color, while still remaining predominantly neutral.  For me, this look is completely work appropriate but might not be for some.  I love the color choices and that the look plays a bit with shadow texture- matte vs. shimmer.  I did not have most of the shadows she used, but I made it work with what I had.  The Maybelline Stylish Smokes Quad in Natural Smokes contains almost all the colors needed with the exception of the light bright teal and the transition crease color.  This quad contains a satin taupe dupe, a perfect matte highlight shade, a Mac Tempting dupe and a Mac Smut dupe!  The satin taupe shade is a bit tricky to work with- has lots of fall out so I would recommend applying this before foundation.  It also helps to mist the brush with some sort of setting spray to help the product adhere.

MAC pro-longwear concealer in NW 20 under eyes
NYX Taupe blush to contour

MUG Cosmopolitan

Hello!

I recently purchased Makeup Geek Cosmopolitan eyeshadow, along with a few other of the newer shades.  It is a lovely peachy golden pink, comparable to MAC's expensive pink.  Like many of MUG's shadows, it is richly pigmented and lovely to work with.  I feel that Cosmopolitan is a bit brighter and more pink than it's MAC counterpart, so I do not regret having both in my collection.  I am using a brand new camera, the first DSLR I have ever owned and am still in the learning process.  This look uses Makeup Geek and Wet n' Wild shadows.

Face
Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation in Buff and Sand Beige mixed (mostly Buff with a tiny dab of sand beige to warm it up)
NYX Taupe Powder Blush to contour cheekbones
Benefit Coralista Blush on cheekbones
Lips sadly nothing in these pics, but ended up adding some Maybelline Color Whisper in Pin Up Peach

Eyes
MAC Painterly PP to prime lids
MUG Nearly Naked in crease as transition color
WnW Lust Palette Vanilla shade on inner corners of lids and brow bone
MUG Cosmoplitan patted all over lid to crease
Rimmel Waterproof Kohl liner- black , on waterline and smudged onto lower lashline
WnW Lust Palette midtone matte purple on outer V and blended into crease a bit, also smudged atop kohl liner on lower lashline
WnW Lust Palette darker matte pruple to deepen outer V
Physician's Formula Lash Boosting Serum Liquid Liner on upper lashline

Spring Is Finally Arriving

Here are some photos from my yard this morning, its lovely to see all the flowers starting to bloom.  This is my first spring since we bought our new home, and its a lovely surprise to see blooms in places I was not anticipating :)  We've done just a bit of work in the yard so far, still have plenty to do with clearing brush and getting the grass in shape.  The fence has been completed so the dog and little one can roam free.

This bush looked so ratty and barren all winter, I have no idea what type it is but I expect it to be even more beautiful once fully in bloom:

Wet N Wild LOTD- Comfort Zone

Hello!

Today's look uses pretty much all drugstore products and is a quick, easy everyday type of look.  All of the shadows pretty much come from one shadow palette- The Comfort Zone palette from Wet N Wild.  All products but the cheek highlight are drugstore. I've long been a fan of WnW shadows, though I find myself reaching for the older Color Icon range more frequently as they include both frosty and matte shadows.  These newer ones have lovely shades, with excellent color payoff, but are lacking the matte shadows that I have become habituated to incorporating into my looks.  Ideally, an eyeshadow palette should include all shadows needed to complete an eye look.  My usual eyeshadow ritual generally includes matte shades in the crease and on the brow bone, with the shimmer shadows on the lid only.  I like the contrast of textures this method provides, as well as the way mattes provide depth that shimmer can't quite.  That being said, I only reached for one shadow outside of this palette today, and that was the brow bone highlight and I survived without the matte crease colors.  I like this for an everyday, work day type of eye.  How do you all feel about matte vs. frosty shades?
