Spring Is Finally Arriving

Here are some photos from my yard this morning, its lovely to see all the flowers starting to bloom.  This is my first spring since we bought our new home, and its a lovely surprise to see blooms in places I was not anticipating :)  We've done just a bit of work in the yard so far, still have plenty to do with clearing brush and getting the grass in shape.  The fence has been completed so the dog and little one can roam free.

This bush looked so ratty and barren all winter, I have no idea what type it is but I expect it to be even more beautiful once fully in bloom:

Wet N Wild LOTD- Comfort Zone

Hello!

Today's look uses pretty much all drugstore products and is a quick, easy everyday type of look.  All of the shadows pretty much come from one shadow palette- The Comfort Zone palette from Wet N Wild.  All products but the cheek highlight are drugstore. I've long been a fan of WnW shadows, though I find myself reaching for the older Color Icon range more frequently as they include both frosty and matte shadows.  These newer ones have lovely shades, with excellent color payoff, but are lacking the matte shadows that I have become habituated to incorporating into my looks.  Ideally, an eyeshadow palette should include all shadows needed to complete an eye look.  My usual eyeshadow ritual generally includes matte shades in the crease and on the brow bone, with the shimmer shadows on the lid only.  I like the contrast of textures this method provides, as well as the way mattes provide depth that shimmer can't quite.  That being said, I only reached for one shadow outside of this palette today, and that was the brow bone highlight and I survived without the matte crease colors.  I like this for an everyday, work day type of eye.  How do you all feel about matte vs. frosty shades?

I've Got A Crush On You

I purchased the Guilty Passions crushed metallic pigment set as a gift for a friend during christmas- I loved one of the colors so much that I ended up getting another for myself.  The shade I fell for is called- I've Got A Crush On You and it is one of those ruddy brown with blue green interference that is really quite dupe-able.  In fact, I have a few in my collection that made this purchase really quite unnecessary- I'm just a sucker for cute packaging ;)

First dupe:  L'oreal HIP loose pigment in Intrepid
Second dupe: Wet n' Wild Comfort Zone Palette it is the darkest shade on the right side of the palette.

Either of these two would work perfectly in this look!

NYX Taupe blush to contour
MAC Warm Soul blush on cheeks

Wanted to show off my new top from H&M... and this pic really shows off the pretty sheen of the Estee Lauder highlight

MAC Let's Skate Paint Pot

I bought Let's Skate PP last year on ebay as it was released during a holiday LE promo, and I wasn't smart enough to grab it then.  It happens to be available again right now and it is absolutely gorgeous!  It is described on MAC's site as a pale pink with pearl.  It is pearly, but I'd say the word glittery is a much better representation.  It is so gorgeously glittery!  I used it in today's look as the star of the show, and paired it with some purples for this pretty cat eye look.

Face
Revlon Colorstay Buff/Nude mix applied with synthetic flat top kabuki
NYX Taupe Blush to contour
MAC Warm Soul Blush on cheeks

Fyrinnae Serendipity

Hello

I recently purchased several shadows from Fyrinnae, and while I love them all, the one that stood out to me the most is the one that was sent as a free sample. This shadow is called Serendipity and is described on their site as follows:  (Formerly "Te Amo") This shade is a glowing iridescent copper highlight, almost ghostly, despite how photos make it appear. A sticky base makes more color come though, but it works well and "glows" over regular primers. Depth of hue may appear to vary slightly due to translucent dark base.

I absolutely love it! It is warm, and glowy and so different than any other shadow I own.  It has such a beautiful coppery aura to it while still being a very work appropriate neutral.  I paired it with some warm, matte browns for a sultry and smoky eye.  This is day 2 in a row that I sported this look!

I used:

Eyes
MAC Painterly Paint pot as base all over lid
MUG Purely Naked in crease, blended and faded up towards brow bone (satiny Tan)
MUG Latte to deepen crease and outer V (matte medium brown)
MUG  Mocha to further deepen crease and along lower lashline (deep matte brown)
LA Splash glitter adhesive patted with finger onto lid below crease
Fyrinnae Serendipity patted atop adhesive on lid
MUG Shimma Shimma on inner corners (metallic champagne)
MAC Vanilla on brow bone as highlight
Physician's Formula Liquid liner on upper lashline
Maybelline Black gel liner on waterline and buffed slightly onto lower lashline
Cover Girl LashBlast Mascara

Face
Revlon Colorstay Whipped Buff
MAC Pro Longwear concealer under eyes
NYX Taupe blush as contour
Benefit Coralista Blush on cheeks
Rimmel Eastend snob liner all over lips topped with NYX Beige gloss
